Wayne and Sharlot together inspired the national swing dance circuit from 1991 through 2008. West Coast Swing, their specialty. Awarded swing dancing's "Innovation Award", they lead the West Coast Swing community in fresh, stylish, and innovative dance directions.
 On February 12, 2008, the Swing Dance Community and Sharlot suffered the tragic and sudden loss of Wayne Bott. Wayne's sudden death was due to hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, a heart abnormality diagnosed in 1990.
Wayne Bott was an exceptional human being, multifaceted, talented, charismatic a gift to us all. He was an extraordinary Swing Dance Teacher. Wayne's swing dancing work lives on through his video instruction and all the many video dance performances, but even more than that, Wayne lives on in all of you leaving a proud and lasting legacy of dance moves and goodness that he shared with all human beings.
 For Sharlot, well she is suffering
to make sense of this sudden and devastating life change. She is trying to figure it all out and will be for quite some time.
